"Warriorship: The deliberate cultivation of harmony."
There's an old saying in Japan... "If you cry in the dojo.... You will laugh on the battlefield."
(As you may already know, "dojo" is a martial arts training hall.)
Almost no one gets really good at anything in life without deliberate effort. Life is about training yourself. That's how you get good at anything. What are you really good at? What outstanding skills do you have? Did they appear out of thin air? Not likely. I speak several languages. Yes, it's true I have an ear for languages, a real gift. But guess what? That gift doesn't teach you how to speak German, Russian or Greek. Only thousands of hours of dedicated work can do that. The fact is, you're training yourself every moment of every day to do something. If you're living a dysfunctional life-paradigm then you may be teaching yourself how to be more stressed out every day. Not that you WANT to be more stressed out, but many people diligently train themselves to become nervous wrecks. What do you want to achieve? Would you like to get in top physical shape? Then start pushing yourself. Refuse to miss your exercise sessions. Develop self-discipline and you will certainly achieve your heart's desire. Do you want to remove stress from your life? Then force yourself to meditate every morning before you go to work. Take a Yoga, Tai Chi or Qi Gong class, or follow the HARA system at www.OceanofCalm.com/info.php. And do it relentlessly. The more calm you want to be, the harder you need to train. It's a paradox, but it's true. Do you want more energy? Then force yourself to practice silent meditation, to follow your exercise program, to eat right and to keep regular hours. Seek harmony in everything you do. Do all this and you'll have more energy than you could ever use. Would you like to improve your health and boost your immune system? Then decide to go on a cleansing program and follow it to the letter. Do it and your immune system will become like a rock. Do you want more love in your life? Force yourself to show love and genuine concern to other people at every opportunity, whether or not they can give you anything in return. Force yourself to forgive everyone, even though it goes against the grain. Pray for those who hurt you, even though it feels like shedding blood. Do that and I guarantee you'll have to hire people to handle all the love that pours into your life! Need more money in your life? Start tithing - even though you don't have enough to give away. Give till it hurts. Practice being grateful for every little thing you have every day and the fountain of generosity will open up to you. You can change anything you want to. But you have to want to. And you have to push yourself. That's the secret wisdom behind today's saying. Whatever is easily achieved is easily lost. And we don't value it. We only value what we pay for with our own efforts. "If you cry in the dojo.... You will laugh on the battlefield." The "dojo" for all of us is our actions and thoughts 24 hours a day. We train ourselves every moment by what we do and think. If we refuse to force ourselves to train properly, the trials of life will overwhelm us constantly. BUT, if we push ourselves to train properly, we WILL laugh on the battlefield of life!
Wishing you a victorious life
