For years I was floating without having specific life goals. Although I was very successful, I still felt that I hadn’t exploited my whole potential. I thought that I was an opportunist, but actually I was a man without a plan. I had nothing more than succeed climbing the corporate ladder.
All that changed after I’d developed my life goals. That was an evolving process and not just a one time brainstorming. These goals are still on my desk, reviewed once in a while. I wrote them down to follow up and visit them frequently to focus my mind like a laser beam. What about you? Do you have your own set of goals? Do you know where you want to go? Do you know in what way?
How’s that related to anti-aging? That’s obvious. Your health should be part of your goals. The same is about your wealth and your relationship with your partner, family, and friends. Personally, I have 6 life goals: wealth, soul mate, family, personality, health and social life. You can have more or you can have less. It doesn’t matter. Just decide what your major goals in your most important areas of your life are. For instance, I believe that anyone needs at least 4 goals: wealth, health, spirituality, and relationships. The order and priorities are a very personal issue. So don’t wait and define your life goals right away.
The most successful people in the world have well defined goals and they stick to them and don’t change them too often when they face difficulties. Your goals are the consequences of your core values. Therefore, don’t change them frequently.
Your goals can take you to what ever you want in life. But you need to write them down to get there. Many books were written about this mysterious phenomenon. Moving your goals from your head to a paper will have a huge impact on your life. Writing your goals is very different from having goals in your mind. The power of the written word is enormous, especially if you review your written goals frequently.
For health and fitness, I recommend that you define your goals as “body fat percentage”. This gauge reflects your fitness, health, appearance, and perceived personality (yes! How determined, decisive, and active you are). Body fat percentage is the key for body transformation through change in body composition (refresh your memory in the “Anti-Aging Fitness Program e-program pages 23-26)
Summary of the tips taken from “Anti-Aging Fitness Program ":
State your goals as if you have already achieved them
Start your goals with “I”
Set specific goals (for example, my health goal is keeping 10% body fat.)
Write down your goals
Set a deadline to reach your goals (short term and long term).
Read your goals every day till you achieve them.
How a 1998’s Nobel Prize Can Change Your Life Today Nitric oxide is now one of the heroes of human biology. But that wasn't always the case. Until recently, nitric oxide was best known as that nasty smog-producing stuff that comes out of tailpipes. Then along came three scientists -- Louis Ignarro, Robert Furchgott and Ferid Murad -- whose pioneering work showing the good side of nitric oxide won them a Nobel Prize in 1998.
The scientists were the first to identify the artery-dilating properties of nitric oxide.
Nitric Oxide is one of the most significant molecules in your body and is crucial to your well-being. Nitric Oxide (NO) is actually a gas that acts throughout the body as a messenger. It sends a signal to the inner smooth-muscle cells of artery walls prompting them to dilate (relax). The artery walls relax and blood pressure eases, thus increasing the blood flow in the arteries.
Nitric oxide instructs the body to perform certain key functions. In fact, Nitric Oxide influences the functioning of virtually every organ in the body, including the lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, genitals, and your heart. Here are some of its crucial functions:
NO relaxes blood vessels to control and lower high blood pressure.
NO reduces heart attack and strokes risk by helping open clogged arteries.
The immune system uses NO to combat toxins, strengthening the internal defense system.
The brain relies on NO to store and retrieve long term memories and to transmit information within the nervous system.
NO supports blood flow to the genitals, that playing an important role in its normal functioning.
NO is a powerful antioxidant, inactivating free radicals that damage cells.
A deficiency in NO can cause a big damage to your health. “Anti-Aging for YOU” life style supports Nitric Oxide levels through nutrition, exercise and supplementation, and provides a wide range of benefits throughout the body.
How to Save Your Life with a Nasty Smog-Producing Stuff that Comes Out of Your Car Tailpipe… Now, let's see how you can increase your NO dramatically. “Anti-Aging for YOU” provides you 3 strategies. The first strategy is eating nutritious food rich in protein. My recommended nutrition distribution is around 50% protein. Protein accelerates your metabolic rate and actually transform you to a “fat burning machine”. But more than that, protein is the source of amino-acids.
The amino acid that is a chief source for creating NO is L-arginine. L-arginine comes from plant and animal proteins. Small amounts of free L-arginine are found in vegetable juices and fermented foods, such as miso and yogurt. Soy protein and other plant proteins are richer in L-arginine than animal proteins, which are richer in lysine. Men, go light on soy products and eat more animal protein (beef, poultry, fish, eggs, and cottage cheese). Soy may have an adverse impact of increasing estrogen and reducing your free-testosterone. Women, go heavy on soy products. You need more estrogen, especially over 40 and as much as you get closer to menopause.
Produce The Anti-Aging Gas that Reverses Your Age… The second strategy to increase your Nitric Oxide is by supplementation with L-arginine. Here are the benefits of L-arginine:
Improves muscle strength
Stimulates the secretion of Human Growth Hormone (HGH)
Increases sperm counts and motility
Helps in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels
Boosts energy levels
Acts as antioxidant
Lower blood pressure
Give a boost to the immune system
The typical therapeutic dosage of l-arginine is 2-3 g per day. If you are following the “Anti-Aging for You” nutrition plan you don’t need to supplement because you’re already consuming enough protein. Just to be on the safe side I recommend, especially for men, to take 500 mg per day (one pill) on an empty stomach before bed time.
One more advice for L-ARGININE supplements. Recently, some expensive supplements are pushed aggressively by MLM distributors. These sophisticated supplements powders, liquids, whatsoever, don’t have more edge than a regular inexpensive l-arginine that you can buy in any health shop or pharmacy.
Another Way to Spice Your Life The third strategy for boosting your NO is off course…exercising. Dr. Jason Allen of Duke University has been studying the production of nitric oxide synthase, the enzyme that is responsible for producing nitric oxide. He has found that exercise increases production of the enzyme. This enzyme increases the nitric oxide levels in the blood protecting artery lining.
I guess I give you just one more reason to exercise. If you haven’t started yet, visit your nearest gym but before you go wait until you hear this…
Men! No Excuses Any More. You Don’t Need the Blue Pill If you haven’t heard it yet, I’m going to give you the news that will blow you away. The erection of the penis during sexual excitation is mediated by NO. The NO is released from nerve endings close to the blood vessels of the penis. Relaxation of these vessels causes blood to pool in the blood sinuses producing an erection.
This is exactly what Viagra is doing. The drug increases the levels of nitric oxide and promotes smooth muscle relaxation. This, in turn, allows for extra blood flow to the penis, leading to erection.
Three popular prescription drugs Viagra®, Levitra®, and Cialis® are actually imitating the NO procedure but with serious side effects (as losing eye sight etc.). These prescription drugs boost your NO level. You can get the same affect by supplement with l-arginine.
Most sexual enhancement supplements for men are actually a disguised NO enhancers that contains mainly l-arginine and are highly priced. You can get the same effect by taking 3 gram of l-arginine on an empty stomach ½-1 hour before sexual activity. Usually this will count to 6 pills. Don’t worry. There is no safe limit dosage and this is a natural amino acid similar to what you get from some protein foods. Better than eating 4 chickens just before having sex. Isn’t it?
